The Benefits of Hot Tubs and Your Health
People have known for centuries that hydrotherapy can help soothe, heal and
restore the body and spirit. Spas have been associated with relaxation and renewal
for centuries. The word "Spa" (originally Hungarian) became a generic expression
used to refer to hot natural mineral springs and the surrounding areas where people
come to relax and take "The Cure". Spa-goers have for centuries soaked in baths
from the hot springs.
Today we are fortunate to be able to capture all of this in our very own home.
A Nordic Hot Tub can magically help soothe pain, and accelerate the natural healing
process of the body. Owning a hot tub is one of the best investments you can make
for yourself and your family. A hot tub will help you sleep better, improve your
circulation, relieve stress, massage away those aches and pains... quite simply,
just make you feel better.
To get the most from your hot tub be sure to:
- Drink plenty of cool water before and after immersion.
- Cool down before you heat up. Don't enter a hot tub immediately after exercise. Wait until you stop sweating and your pulse rate returns to normal.
- Enter and exit a hot tub slowly and carefully. Get out with the same caution, since the sudden change in posture and temperature may cause some people to feel lightheaded.
- Use common sense. Don't stay in too long, and if you start to feel uncomfortable, get out.
- Be aware that the maximum recommended temperature for a hot tub is 104 degrees F, and the maximum recommended soaking time at this temperature is 15 minutes.
